From the artist
My life and work took a life altering turn in 2005. Prior to this my work was often flowers and landscapes–very pretty and sweet. Now, by pouring paint and the rare use of paintbrushes or sticks, I allow liquid-emotion and energy to spread across the surface of birch boxes and canvases. I call them “pour” paintings. They are responses to moments experienced, dreams or a lingering thought. The use of popular latex house paint colors further ties the piece to current culture. The moments captured are timeless and often resonate in the viewer.
